"An Enfield Dog Park Initiative Continues"

A well orchestrated effort to add a dog park to the town of Enfield, Ct. is underway.  With more than 50 volunteers and the support of adoption groups and vendors, Enfield should add its' name to the six other cities in Connecticut that have a Dog Park. The many benefits of an Enfield Dog Park include exercise, socialization and stress reduction for Enfield's canine population.  Enfield, that has the highest number of registered dogs in Connecticut are proud of the efforts of President Bob Stefanik and the members of his action committee.

"Pet-Friendly" Home Insurance Companies

In the past several years many homeowners have found themselves unable to obtain homeowners insurance or have had their homeowners insurance cancelled solely because they owned a breed of dog on the insurance company's vicious dog list.  The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is trying to help homeowners with pets find insurance companies that will cover dogs.

The following are a list of dog -friendly homeowner insurance companies that do not discriminate by breed:

State Farm, Farmers Insurance Group, Travelers, Liberty Mutual, United Services Automobile Association, Erie, Fireman-so Fund, Kemper, Chubb Group, Allstate and Safeco Corp.

Please visit the shelter and consider adopting either a cat, kitten or dog this month!
