Lizz with Jesse James and Dave with LokiAfter receiving word that the Hartford Dog Pound has a strict limit of 10 days before a lost dog is euthanized, Lizz and Dave decided to take action. Having reached Dave's proclaimed "Furball Limit" of 2 cats and 2 dogs, they decided they wanted to do more for the pound. In addition to collecting blankets and towels, Dave and Lizz launched a website at: www.hartforddogpound.com to promote adoptions.

Springfield Golfers Owe a Debt of Gratitude to "Chubs"

Veterans Golf Course (winter)Most golfers playing at Springfield's Veterans Golf Course have never met "Chubs", the golf-course dog, but have benefited from her professional work.

With literally hundreds of migrating geese landing every year on the fairways, something had to be done about the waste left behind. The solution was acquiring a professionally trained border collie to help manage the geese. Under the direction of Tom and other golf course employees,"Chubs" who is approximately 8 yrs old, seems to enjoy her work.

To break up "Chubs" isolation during the winter months, Tom usually takes her to breakfast to give her some company.

Chubs and Tom Chubs gets ready for her walk

Thanks Tom!!
