Dog Adoption Network - DAN mourns the loss of their mascot Mohegan

Everyone who has lost a valued pet thinks that their dog or cat was exceptional - a true "one of a kind". For Linda and Steve, founders of The Dog Adoption Network, the passing of their dog "Mohegan" was no exception.

Adopted from T.J. O'Connor shelter just hours before being scheduled to be euthanized, Mohegan proved to be one of the most gentle and loving dogs they had. His kind nature made it possible for him to accept many other rescued dogs and cats in their Springfield MA home. Mohegan motivated his owners to found the Dog Adoption Network which promoted animal welfare and the adoption of animals. Although he was 15 years old, Mohegan still enjoyed swimming in the ocean, camping out and socializing with other dogs and people.

He will be truly missed.
