Cats Before Capacity

One of the cats at TJOLast month a sudden illness affecting the MSPCA's cat population forced them to turn away people with cats and kittens to surrender. Many found their way to the current T.J. O'Connor Animal Control Center in Chicopee, MA. Although the new facility will house hundreds of cats a year, the old pound is not set up to house cats or kittens, only dogs.

Sarah, reflected the sentiments of the entire staff when she said, "What were we to do, let them die?". Despite their limited space, the center's staff placed cages in their offices, back rooms and hallways to accommodate their new feline arrivals. Currently there are about 12 cats and kittens looking to be adopted.

Due to the old building's limited capacity for cats, please check with the MSPCA to see if they are now accepting cats and kittens for adoption.

Black lab-x for adoption
Rocky wants to "fly" now and find new home

Sweet Old Dog Looking for a New Home
This black lab-x is a female around 10 years old. She is good with kids, cats and other dogs. She loves her belly rubs and treats. She already knows how to "sit" and "stay". She was found as a "stray".
Please visit her at TJ O'Connor Center!

#12057- "ROCKY" is a shepard mix and a little scared in his cage at the Center, but it's because he's so lonely here. He's a sweet boy who is just longing for love and a forever home. Rocky already knows sit and stay and loves to cuddle up with everyone. He's 1 1/2 years old.

Tommy available for adoption
Max looking for new home

#11841 - "TOMMY" is a handsome brindle pitbull has been at the shelter since April. Tommy is high energy but behaves well on a leash. He is about 1 1/2 yrs old and seems to do well with all people and other dogs. But he doesn't like cats! Tommy loves playing fetch, tennis balls, and cuddling in your lap!

#12613-"MAX" is a Rotti/Shep mix and has been at the shelter now for about 2 months.Because of his high energy, Max would be best with an active family. He is about 4 years old and was picked up as a stray. He is very affectionate with people but would do best as the only pet.

Unfortunately "Maggie" (featured here last month) had to be euthanized because of health problems.
