J. O'Connor Regional Animal Control Center. Usually have a few pages
with pictures of the dogs currently being held there (this is not a
complete listing - so be sure to visit the shelter also). This shelter
is generally overcrowded and many dogs are put down - Please check these

Sterling Animal Shelter
No kill shelter located in Sterling, MA. Has a "Profile" section with
pics and info of animals currently being held.
Dog Orphans Inc Non-profit,
no kill shelter located in Douglas, MA. It was founded twenty-five years
ago by a small group of animal lovers and is dedicated to saving dogs
from pain and suffering.
Mansfield Shelter "The
Mansfield Animal Shelter is one of the most active shelters in Southeastern
Massachusetts. The Shelter has one of the highest adoption rates and
an excellent reputation. We adopt more animals to non-town residents
than we do to Mansfield residents." See their links

Second Chance Animal Shelter
East Brookfield, MA. They are starting a listing of ACO contact numbers
for the eastern part of the state. They also have a section of adoptable
pets.

Project H.O.P.E. a
volunteer run organization in Somers, CT dedicated to reduce the number
of cats/kittens who suffer due to overpopulation. Our focus is spaying
and neutering
homeless cats (including feral (wild) cats), socializing and adopting
kittens born outside, and adopting friendly homeless cats to loving
homes.

Service Dogs Assists the disabled in locating and training their service
dogs, advocates equality for inclusion and provides no cost search and
rescues. Located in Greenfield, MA.

Spay USA "A network of volunteers

PaLC Prevent a Litter Coalition "believes
in prevention rather than cure. Our mission is simply to prevent the suffering
of animals." They have ongoing information regarding the Animal Friendly
License Plate - you can track the progress of the bill and find out how
to help get it passed in your state.
Doing Things for Animals is a national
advocacy program for humane organizations whose mission is saving animals’
lives. This site has information regarding the No-Kill Conference held
