NikkiThis story is devoted to a very special person, Dr. Stephen Dean. His love for animals has been great all of his life. He has adopted and raised many animals in his lifetime. If I could tell you stories about all the animals he has had in his lifetime, I would have to write a novel! Steve is one of the most generous and kindest people I have ever known. He has always been a great friend to me, as well as my brother. I love him dearly. Here goes. This is for you, Steve.... A little over ten years ago, my son, Robbie brought home a 5 month old puppy who was supposed to be put down that very day. He begged me to let him keep her. I was hesitant at first, knowing that my husband was not an animal lover. Well, I took one look at her and I swear she was smiling at us!! I have had many animals in my lifetime, but there was something "special" about this one! It was love at first sight. We have had Nikki ten years now, and she has brought much joy to our family. Everyone who meets her loves her, and she loves them back. My husband, who didn't want a dog, has already built her two doghouses complete with windows and awnings, but he still insists that we do not need a dog! Nikki is a very important part of our lives, and to say that our lives would be incomplete without her would be an understatement.
