KellyI would like to share my story with all the animal lovers out there. Back in April 1999 I met a beautiful little stray at the T.J. O'Connor K-9 Contol Center in Chicopee. I volunteer at the shelter and instantly fell in love with this scared little girl. It took a little coaxing, but she came to the front of her cage and it was love at first sight. F.A.C.E.S. sponsored "Kelly" out of the shelter and I took her on as a foster dog. I wasn't supposed to have a dog in my apartment but I knew it would only be for a little while. When F.A.C.E.S. told me they had a possible home for Kelly. I said "no way". She had become my best friend in the 2 weeks that I had her. I decided to adopt her and if I wasn't allowed to keep her, I would look for some other place to live. It turns out my landlord decided to let me keep "Kelly" but I had started looking for a little house for us and if it wasn't for "Kelly" I wouldn't have succeeded. On November 30, 1999 I moved in to my new little house with a fenced yard and I adopted a Doberman named "Soze" from Doberman Rescue and our dreams have come true!!! "Kelly" inspired me to go after my dreams and no matter how hard they seem to be if you have faith you can do it. I own my own house now and we can all be a happy family because love *does* conquer all. Story sent in by MaryAnn |
