LilyWhen I was ready to have a dog, I contacted Chihuahua Rescue. Josephine told me about an 11 yr. old female dog in the New Haven Shelter that was unlikely to find a home. She had never been spayed, was in need of dental care, and a hernia repair. She wasn't what I had in mind, but I was sure that being abandoned in a shelter wasn't what she had in mind either. So I bought her a bed, food dishes, toys, a pink collar and leash, and drove to New Haven. When I arrived, it broke my heart to see this poor dog, with no name, so frightened and confused. Lily and I went home, and I was determined to make her Golden Years happy years. Today Lily is healthy and adored. She has been a member of my family for three years, and everytime I look into her expressive eyes, I consider myself so very lucky to have found my Lily. Story sent in by Valerie |
