BuckWe adopted a lab-husky mix from a local no-kill shelter in October. The timing could not have been worse for us to get a dog because we would be going on a weeklong trip just a few days later, but we knew if we didn't get Buck then, he would be adopted by someone else. So we took him home three days later (he had to be neutered) and we have found him to bring a lot of happiness to our home. Although we have had to take on an initially serious chewing problem, related to separation anxiety, he hardly ever barks at all, and has learned several new tricks. Buck enjoys playing with our three cats, although he can get a little rough sometimes, and running out in our 2 acre yard chasing chipmunks and rabbits. He especially loves to sit in the snowbanks on the deck, watching the birds and squirrels. He makes us laugh when he flips over on his back to chew on his rope in the living room, and gets a special treat of sitting on the bed with daddy every once in a while. He hates to be left alone so we've been taking him for rides when we do errands on the weekend, and he sleeps on the backseat the whole time. He never jumps up on new people and loves everyone he comes in contact with...even non-dog lovers who have visited us say he is very sweet! I recommend adoption wholeheartedly!
