Mojo

My husband and I went to the MSPCA shelter to look for a dog, I wanted an older puppy 3-6 months old and he wanted a young puppy. Well, we looked at all the dogs there (and wanted to take all of them). While I was petting a pile of adorable puppies, my husband said "Look". From a large cage, a large shepard mix was staring at my husband with the saddest look I have ever seen. She was all alone in that cage and hung her head as if to say "I'm so scared". Well it took a few minutes to convince me to even meet her because she was so skittish looking, she never wagged her tail once.

Well, once we saw how she was with one of the workers there, who obviously loved her, we knew she was the one. She was so affectionate and still is, just leaning into you for marathon petting sessions and wagging her big club of a tail everytime you talk to her. Mojo is a big dog but we could see her ribs and hip bones when we got her. Her previous owners had apparently neglected her a great deal. Since we got her, she has had two bouts with worms, kennel cough, separation anxiety, jumping over fences, oh my! She has been some work! But she has been worth every minute. She is a loyal, loving dog and every time I look at her, I wonder how those other people could not have loved her. I hope everyone adopts from shelters and not just the young puppies! Always spay or neuter your pets, there are so many put to death needlessly.
