SpikeMy wife and I had one dog "Christmas" but we wanted to get her a companion, another dog that could keep her company and be a friend to her. What we found, was a friend for all three of us. We adopted Spike from a Humane shelter in R.I. I didn't know anything about Spike until we went home and I read his file. He was badly abused. He was sprayed by paint, sat on, had a cut on his neck because someone thought it was a good idea to put a 20 lb. dog on a steel permenant collar. Obviously, Spike had issues, especially against men. He tried to bite me once for changing his water bowl. We gave him so much LOVE, he didn't know what to do with it, we put him in training, and he became the ultimate vel-cro dog, he gained a healthy 10 lb. and I swear I could see him smile sometimes. And as for Christmas, she can't live without him for he keeps her warm and playful. Please ADOPT! it's not only the best way, It's the ONLY way you should get a pet. Regards sent in by A. Elberry
